There are some items of clothing that don't reach their full potential until they're worn on a real, live human being. Like refusing the starter to leave room for dessert, they're not about to give it all up for the hanger.
This Mads Nørgaard Palm Leaf Shirt is one such piece. It almost, almost slipped under the styling radar. Until we came to shoot a summer menswear editorial and discovered the full power of its wondrous, effortless charm.
The slightly squared shape and looser tailoring on the sleeves is both flattering and comfortable. Slimmer fit to the waist, it works tucked in or out (or in AND out, as displayed below - we always like to break fashion barriers).
The two tone palm leaf print is quirky enough to feel unique, not so eccentric as to be scary. The muted colours and dot patterning take it down and take it graphic. 'Wacky' is not always the adjective you want people to use when describing your sartorial selections, and we think this fear may have caused some over-caution in the area of print shirts. Here you're safe.
Hentsch Man Navy Carrot Trousers and black flip flops. Summer weather in London can be hard to navigate. Leaving the house with sandals, boots, sunglasses, an umbrella and your winter coat can seem like a sensible decision. If you're not of the short wearing set, relaxed cotton trousers can be a good alternative. Particularly when they're as well tailored as these by Hentsch Man - loose fit, almost baggy, but tapered at waist and ankle. Worn with flip flops or Birkenstocks (styles available in store) keeps it cool, literally.
